This class is for people interested in learning how to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Everything is taught hands on.
If you own a firearm, you are welcome to bring it to class (unloaded). This is the best way to learn about your firearm, safety, and operation and begin practicing with it on the range. If you are unsure of it's condition (in the example of an inherited firearm, take it to a licensed gunsmith for a safety check or repair as needed. We can recommend on for you if you do not have one of your own. If you are unsure the firearm is unloaded, click on the contact us link to discuss the safest way to proceed.
No firearm is required to take this class. We will provide equipment. Ammunition to be provided at an additional cost.
Training involves classroom training & time on the shooting range.
In this class, you will have the opportunity to learn: how to identify parts of handgun & ammunition; how pistols & revolvers operate; how to identify ammunition types, calibers, and match ammunition to firearms; things to consider when purchasing a firearm; safety in storage, transportation, in the home, and on the range; the differences and purposes of target and defensive ammunition; grip, stance, sight picture, sight alignment, proper trigger pull, and other marksmanship skills; information/Recommendations for cleaning kits and supplies; basic information about how to clean the firearm
Shooting will be arranged at a local shooting range. All range rules apply. Range costs can be included in training fee or paid separately to the range.
