FFL Transfer Request

If you purchase, sell, or transfer a firearm out of your state of residence, federal law requires that the firearm be transferred through another FFL Dealer. Range Angels will process transfers from or to most US states for a nominal fee for transfer services.

Transferor (seller/sender) is responsible for transferring firearms to transferees (buyer/recipients) according to federal and state laws governing those types of transfers.

  • Incoming FFL Transfer Fee: $35, fee due at the time of service; $15 each additional firearm transferred on the same 4473
  • Outgoing FFL Transfer Fee: $50, plus shipping fees; $30 each additional firearm transferred to the same transferee/dealer
    • Documentation of seller must provide:
      • Current, valid, government-issued photo ID
      • Unloaded firearm to be transferred
      • Full legal name of transferee (buyer/recipient)
      • Complete current address of transferee (no PO Boxes)
      • Name and contact information of the receiving FFL dealer, email address if available
    • Sender must provide packaging materials including all protective packaging.
      • Option: Range Angels will provide packaging and bubble wrap materials for a $20 fee for handguns and $30 for long guns.
    • Sender responsible for shipping fees and insurance fees at their option.
      • Handguns, including pistol-grip shotguns, and AR pistols must be shipped 2-day air shipping
      • Long guns can be shipped with ground or air transportation
      • Cost of Carrier Insurance is the responsibility of the sender (or recipient) but will not be the responsibility of the shipping or receiving FFL.

Transfers are provided as a service only. Firearms are received and shipped as is. Individual sending the firearm is responsible to identify the transferee (recipient/buyer); for the condition of the firearm; and is responsible for filing any claims with the carrier if insurance is purchased. If no insurance is purchased, sender assumes all responsibility for the firearm's condition and satisfaction or lack thereof of the recipient. All packaging supplies are the responsibility of the sender. Packages are to remain unsealed for the processing of the firearm transfer. The package will be sealed by shipper's standards by Range Angels staff once the firearm is processed.

  • Incoming transfers resulting in Delay response from NICS: No refund of the transfer fee. Firearms will only be transferred if a Proceed response is received within 30 days of the initiation of the NICS background check or if a subsequent check for a separate firearm processed within 30 days results in a Proceed.
  • Incoming transfers resulting in Deny response from NICS: No refund of the transfer fee. Firearm will be processed depending on the circumstances of the transaction. If intended recipient files an appeal with NICS/FBI, firearm will be held.
  • Outgoing transfers resulting in the return of the firearm to the sender: No refund of the outgoing transfer fee. Incoming transfer fee required. Original sender must complete ATF Form 4473, provide acceptable documentation and receive a Proceed response within 30 days of inquiry.
